We are proud to offer an outstanding and unique educational experience for future physician assistants who are committed to primary care and the underserved in Oklahoma. During the first semester of our month program, students will collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment with other students and faculty at the week-long Summer Institute.
The Summer Institute focuses on underserved care and available resources throughout the Tulsa community. PA students also attend the Bedlam evening clinic throughout their first year. This student-run free clinic provides much needed care to uninsured patients from northeast Oklahoma. These distinct opportunities further supplement the curriculum covered in Public Health, Professional Issues in Medicine and Health, and the Underserved module in Clinical Medicine.
During the second year, students attend Student Academy which is comprised of monthly interdisciplinary seminars over chronic disease management with emphasis on evidence-based treatment algorithms and hands-on clinical skill development.

It began operation around , pre-dating the arrival of steamboats on the lake. The ferry was 80 feet long, 18 feet wide, and had a 65 foot tall mast. The ferry was used not only to transport people, but also wagons, horses, cattle, and goods such as soap, grain, coal, and fruit.
Anywhere from twenty to eighty head of cattle could be carried on the boat. The Goodwin Ferry provided a convenient connection for people traveling between Auburn and Bath. The fare for a person was 25 cents. For a horse and wagon it was 75 cents. A herd of cattle was charged two shillings per head. If someone wanted to cross right away on a special trip, they had to give up a silver dollar.

A summary of the history of the interest in postgraduate program accreditation follows. Date Activity February The Joint Review Committee was first approached to review the issue of accrediting postgraduate physician assistant programs. February An adhoc Committee was appointed and reported its findings. It was the Joint Review Committee consensus opinion that it was inappropriate for the JRC to review post-graduate physician assistant programs at that time.
March The Joint Review Committee again brought up the issue of reconsidering the advisability of expanding the scope of its review to include post-graduate physician assistant programs. No decision was made. Over the ensuing months additional information was garnered.
